La Cruz de Huanacaxtle
What started as another one of the Bay’s fishing villages, La Cruz de Huanacaxtle has become a small tourist beachfront resort community.
While La Cruz hasn’t grown up a whole lot, that is what gives it its appeal. Driving through the very rough cobblestone streets will give your kidneys a shake, you are in an authentic Mexican village, most of the services are either in the Marina area or by the highway.
La Cruz’s beach is called La Manzanilla, and it is tucked away in a small cove just north of the main part of town, and just north of the Marina. It's quite small and has a few restaurants and bars. The water here is clear and you feel like you are in a remote part of Mexico.
La Cruz de Huanacaxtle also has one of the major marinas of the Bay of Banderas and there are several tour companies based here. We recommend www.allycatsailing.com for a fun day on the water.
La Cruz de Huanacaxtle is situated just Northeast of Puerto Vallarta, La Cruz is easily accessible, only a short distance from the airport makes catching a bus or UBER a quick way to get there.
