Some recent comments and reviews about Alma:
Beautiful house with amazing views and amenities. The staff was great and very welcoming. We had Alma cook breakfast for us almost everyday, which was always delicious and inexpensive. The house is in a great location and within walking distance of the ‘Zona Romántica’. The walk back up the hill is definitely a workout but we just started taking Uber (approx $2 USD) on the way back from town when we didn’t feel like walking. Definitely would stay here again!

Have held off writing a review for this place.... It is a hidden gem and did not know how to describe it. It is tucked away up the hill in a typical Mexican Neighbourhood. Extremely private. From the moment we arrived until the moment we checked out we were in heaven. The kitchen is modern and gorgeous, the spaces in this villa are just perfect. IT is massive for 6 to 8 guests. WIll hold even more if you wanted. The pool is heated and we used it all day and even in the evening after coming home from dinner. ·3 beautiful stone frogs shooting water out of their mouths into the pool provide a lovely backdrop to the stunning ocean views from everywhere in this villa.. Being in a Mexican neighbourhood, you will hear the dogs and roosters each morning. Bring earplugs if this would upset you, but we grew to expect and wait for those wake up calls. Smile. Sunset skies are stunning. The bedrooms, beds, bathrooms are perfect. The staff... what can we say. They are perfect. Alma gives the place its soul and energy. She is an amazing person that goes out of her way to make you feel comfortable and welcome. She communicated with the rest of our group, even though they did not speak Spanish. So beautiful. I even made friends with the man down the alley that sells water and items each day and his dog Toby. We loved this place so much we are going to try to book it for next March Break. A treasure.
Villa Lucero is a real gem of a place, immaculately kept, comfortable and stylish with wonderful views and great amenities. We were two parents, an almost-three-year-old, and a family friend, and while the place was large, it still felt quite homey. Our daughter absolutely loved the experience, from putting her feet in the pool with us and doing some swimming, to climbing up the steps to the roof deck and making drawings sitting at the table overlooking the bay. As part of the rental, a housekeeper and a groundskeeper visited daily. We arranged for full breakfast most days and it was joy to have a relaxing morning accompanied by a delicious meal. The rooms were extremely clean and well-cleaned daily, as was all of the garden and exterior portions of the house. Even a small drain cover that was just slightly broken was fixed within a day. Great attention to detail and great communication from all the staff that manage running the house. We had arranged for some toys to be delivered ahead of our rental (from Baby Vallarta) and they were waiting in the living room in bins for us on our arrival. Really great service. Having a small child in the space did mean being vigilant because the pool is generally accessible, but it was by no means a burden. We could also imagine having been there as part of a larger group and enjoying everything just as much. Staying at Villa Lucero was truly at treat and we'd all heartily recommend it.
Villa Lucero is a wonderful, comfortable, beautiful home. It's an easy walk to Old Town/Zona Romantica (if a hilly walk back!), and Ubers to most anywhere are very inexpensive. The views of the city and the bay are expansive, and the house is peaceful, cool, airy and relaxing. Mario, the house manager, is responsive and effective, and Alma the housekeeper is charming, a talented cook, and wonderfully unobtrusive and efficient. We had a group of 10 guests and all felt incredibly comfortable and relaxed. The rooms and bathrooms were spacious and comfortable, and the small terraces and private areas around the property were shady and cozy. I would recommend this home with no reservations, we had an utterly wonderful experience.

Chef Aric Bianchi
ABOUT CHEF ARIC BIANCHI
Hello, I’m Aric. I grew up in Colorado, lived in Japan from age 14 to 20 years old, and now I live in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. My mother was a polish, my father was an Italian. As you can see, all those aspects define my cooking style. I like to take dishes you know very well, and re-imagine them into something that is very recognizable but different - To a new level. I love world cuisine and, specialized in blending different cultures into my dishes.
My cooking experience started from my own home, of course, from my mother. I ventured into professional restaurant world at age 12 as a pizza cook at my uncle’s restaurant. From there, I went to a neighborhood restaurant in Denver, Colorado, worked as a bus boy, dish washer, and prep cook. Life took some funny turn, and had an opportunity to live in Osaka, Japan at age 14, and that’s when my food adventure really kicked in. I started to try new foods that I never thought I’d try and/or like. I didn’t even know what those foods were! It was not until I got back to Colorado at age 21, and got a job at Zenith Restaurant with chef, Kevin Taylor. Did I know that food was going to be my passion. Kevin helped me mold my food style, by taking recognizable food and making it more elegant. From there I used restaurants as my culinary school and studied with some of the best chefs in Colorado. Then, as fortune will have it, I was working with Kevin again, and he recommended me as a personal chef to Mr. & Mrs. Frederick Hamilton where I worked for 2 years for them. Here I am, to provide everything I know to you and your family in Puerto Vallarta.
